Personal Training Didsbury is run by David Hough, an experienced personal trainer with 17 years’ experience helping people achieve their fitness goals. David is friendly and approachable, and his sessions will empower you to gain confidence and enjoy being fit and active. David uses personal training sessions to help motivate clients and increase their confidence in the gym, and his aim is to help his clients enjoy fitness and achieve their goals, whatever their requirements and previous fitness experience.
David is a fully qualified instructor with a Level 3 Certificate in Personal Training and a Level 2 Certificate in Gym Instruction. He is also a trained Boxercise, Kick Boxercise and Studio Cycling instructor. Under his Fitness Trainer Award, David is qualified to perform health screening checks such as blood pressure, lung function and body composition, and train people with certain health conditions such as obesity, coronary heart disease, asthma and orthopaedic problems.
Marianna has worked in the fitness industry for over a decade as a personal trainer, olympic weightlifting coach and CrossFit trainer. She specialises in weight loss and strength training for women, but has significant experience of training men too. Her clients range from complete beginners to competitive weightlifters.
Marianna is a competitive weight lifter herself and has a long history in running races up to full marathons. Marianna’s motto is “Fitness is not a destination, it’s a way of life” and she advocates that your health is one of the best investments you can make.
As long as I can remember I have always been passionate about fitness. As a caring and dedicated Personal Trainer you can expect that I’ll listen and help you in every way I can, whilst providing you with expert advice in exercise, nutrition and health.
I have worked with a wide range of clients during my 6 years I’ve been in the fitness industry, with all types of goals. Everyone is different and no one thing will work for everyone, but trying different workout routines and different diets myself, I have come up with straightforward training and meal plans which will help you achieve your goals and more. That’s why I will provide everyone with a specific programme to help with their individual needs and lifestyle.
I’m always looking for the potential in my clients to go beyond their goals and excel in something they enjoy. The best thing about my job is seeing clients achieve the results they’ve worked so hard for. Whether it’s lifting a certain weight on a barbell or getting down to that specific weight. It puts a huge smile on my face!
Although I am retired from top level international athletic competition, I know the importance of remaining fit and active. My passion is to improve people’s quality of life through movement and positive life changes.
My aim is to provide you with Achievable Sessions designed specifically for you to improve your whole body and motivate you to have fun and keep moving.

Mathew is a Level 3 Qualified Personal Trainer, specialising in fat / weight loss, building muscle, strength & conditioning, mobility, and core strength. He is also an Exercise Referral specialist working with clients with Cardiovascular Disease, Respiratory Issues, Metabolic Disease (Diabetes), Muscular Skeletal Conditions, as well as Obesity & Mental Health. Mathew also recently qualified as a Covid Exercise Rehabilitation Specialist.

Jonathan Deakin has been training clients since 1996. He is constantly developing training programmes to ensure maximum benefit to his clients and regularly contributes to press/magazine articles.
Jon studied Exercise Science at The University Of Luton and also completed the prestigious Association of Personal Trainers Advanced Diploma.<
His extensive experience in personal fitness training has seen him work with everyone from celebrities and professional athletes to cardiac rehab patients (Jon is a Phase IV Cardiac Rehab Specialist).
Since 2013 Jon has been the Project Ambassador for the MacMillan Get Manchester Moving initiative aimed at delivering exercise sessions to cancer patients.

TRAINING FACILITIES AT THE NORTHERN
Sessions take place at the Northern in Didsbury. You do not have to be a member to train with us, meaning you get to take advantage of all the equipment and facilities without paying a subscription to the Northern. The gym is fully equipped with cardio machines and weights, and we can also take advantage of the aerobic studio and outdoor facilities.
David is passionate about health and fitness, and regularly works on his own fitness when not training. In addition to his personal training work, he also teaches group Boxercise sessions twice weekly at the Northern.
TRAINING FACILITIES AT OUR PRIVATE GYM
We use top of the range equipment, exactly like the brands you’ll find in Virgin Active, Nuffield Health and Pure Gym with the added benefit of being able to train in your own private gym instead of a busy gym full of members. Below is a list of the equipment we use and we're constantly updating as we go!
We use Pre-Core treadmills which functions at various tempo’s and gradients.
Our concept2 rowing machines have on-board computers to track your progress and time spent.
RACKS AND CABLE MACHINES
We’ve sourced robust Powertec racks and cables, fully vetted and checked on a regular basis for safety.
We have lots of smaller strength and conditioning pieces including Rip60 (like TRX straps), hexagonal dumbbells, barbells, medicine balls, everything you’d expect in a top class training facility!
